Arrival and Departure
What are the check-in and check-out times?▾
Check-in is from 12:00 to 20:00. If you are arriving on a late ferry or a delayed flight, please contact us in advance so we can make arrangements. Check-out is before 10:00 on your departure day. If you need a late check-out, ask us — we will do our best to accommodate you depending on availability.
Do you provide a free airport transfer?▾
Yes. When you book directly with Tourterelle Holiday Home, we provide a complimentary transfer from Praslin Airport (PRI) to the property. The airport is just 2 km away — a 5-minute drive. Simply send us your flight details when you confirm your booking and we will arrange everything. This service is included for all direct bookings at no extra charge.
Do you offer transfers from the Baie Sainte Anne ferry jetty?▾
Yes. If you are travelling to Praslin by ferry from Mahé on the Cat Rose or Cat Coco service, we offer a complimentary transfer from Baie Sainte Anne Jetty to Tourterelle. The jetty is 9 km from the property — approximately 15 minutes by car. Please let us know your ferry arrival time when you book so we can have your transfer ready.
Food and Dining
Is breakfast available?▾
Breakfast is available as an optional extra at EUR 10 per person per day. It is not included in the room rate by default, which keeps our nightly prices lower for guests who prefer to self-cater or explore the local cafes and restaurants in Grand Anse. If you would like breakfast every morning, or just on certain days, let us know and we will arrange it. Please give us at least the previous evening's notice.
Can I get dinner at Tourterelle?▾
We offer optional Creole dinners at EUR 15 per person, prepared with the authentic flavours of Seychellois cuisine — fresh fish, coconut-based curries, fragrant rice, and local vegetables. This is a genuine taste of island cooking rather than a hotel buffet, and it is particularly popular with guests who arrive tired after a long journey and want a delicious meal without going out. Pre-booking is required; please request this service when you check in or give us a day's notice.
What is in the kitchenette?▾
Every apartment at Tourterelle is fitted with a full kitchenette for genuine self-catering. You will find a refrigerator, a microwave, a two-ring cooking hob, and a full set of crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots, and pans. There is everything you need to prepare proper meals from scratch. There is a supermarket within a short walk of the property in Grand Anse, and the local market and fish vendors are excellent sources of fresh produce. Self-catering is one of the real pleasures of a Tourterelle stay — picking up fresh tuna at the market and cooking it on your own schedule is something you cannot do in a hotel.
Beach and Location
How far is Grand Anse Beach?▾
Grand Anse Beach is 150 metres from Tourterelle Holiday Home — a two-minute walk. You do not need a transfer or a vehicle to reach the beach; it is close enough to go back for your sunglasses if you forget them. The beach is one of the most beautiful in the world: a long arc of white sand, clear warm water, and the granite boulders and casuarina trees that define the Seychellois coastline.
Car Hire
Can I arrange a rental car through Tourterelle?▾
Yes. We have a partnership with Explorer Cars, a reputable local car hire company based right here in Grand Anse. They offer a fleet of cars, vans, and 4x4s — all air conditioned, with power steering and modern safety features. When you book your apartment, let us know you need a vehicle and we will connect you directly with the Explorer Cars team. Payment is by cash or card. Facilities and Amenities
Is WiFi available?▾
Yes. Free WiFi is provided in every apartment. The connection is sufficient for general browsing, streaming, video calls, and remote working. Praslin is a popular destination for those combining work and holiday, and we have guests who manage important calls from the balcony with a view of the garden. If you have specific connectivity requirements, please ask us before booking.
How often is housekeeping provided?▾
Housekeeping is provided daily across all apartment types. Your apartment will be cleaned, beds made, and towels and linen refreshed every day during your stay. If you prefer not to be disturbed on a particular morning — perhaps you had a late night or an early swim — just let us know and we will skip that day and come the following morning instead.
Is smoking permitted?▾
All apartments at Tourterelle Holiday Home are strictly non-smoking. This applies inside the apartments and on the balconies and patios. We ask all guests to respect this policy to protect the comfort of fellow guests and the condition of the apartments. Designated outdoor areas away from the building are available for those who need them. Please contact us if you have questions about this before booking.
Payments and Policies
What payment methods do you accept?▾
We accept a range of payment methods. Direct bookings can be confirmed by bank transfer, and we also accept credit and debit cards. For incidentals during your stay, cash is useful for local purchases. Our car hire partner Explorer Cars also accepts both cash and card. If you have a specific payment requirement, get in touch before booking and we will advise you on the simplest option.

Our cancellation policy varies by booking period and room type. We recommend booking directly with us so you can discuss the conditions that suit your travel plans — we aim to be as flexible and fair as possible, and direct bookings allow for more personalised arrangements than those made through third-party platforms. Is there a discount for longer stays?▾
Yes. Guests staying for two weeks or more qualify for a special discount rate. This is one of the advantages of booking directly with us — we can offer rates that third-party booking platforms are unable to match. Contact us with your intended dates and we will give you a personalised quote.
Planning Your Trip
When is the best time to visit Seychelles?▾
Praslin is a year-round destination with temperatures consistently between 24°C and 31°C. The north-west monsoon season (November to March) brings the calmest seas to the south-west coast — including Grand Anse Beach — making it excellent for swimming and snorkelling right on our doorstep. The south-east trade winds (May to October) bring brisker conditions to the south-west but create calm, flat water on the north coast, ideal for visiting Anse Lazio and Anse Volbert. April and October are transitional months often offering the best of both worlds. There is no truly bad season; each has its own character.
How do I get from Mahé to Praslin?▾
There are two ways to reach Praslin from Mahé. The ferry (Cat Rose or Cat Coco) departs from Victoria's ferry terminal and arrives at Baie Sainte Anne Jetty on Praslin's east coast; the journey takes approximately one hour and runs several times daily. The domestic flight on Air Seychelles or a charter service takes just 15 minutes and provides spectacular aerial views of the islands. Both options are reliable; the ferry is generally less expensive and gives you more time to take in the ocean scenery, while the flight is quicker and convenient if you have connecting timings to manage. We provide free transfers from both the jetty and the airport for direct bookings.
Is Tourterelle suitable for families with young children?▾
Absolutely. The Two-Bedroom Apartments on the ground floor with private patios are particularly well suited to families — there is space for children to play, a kitchenette for preparing meals on your own schedule, and no stairs between the apartment and the garden. Grand Anse Beach is a family-friendly beach, and the 150-metre walk means you can take the children back for naps without disrupting anyone else's afternoon. Babysitting services can also be arranged through Tourterelle for evenings when the adults want to go out. We are a family-run property ourselves, and families are always welcome here.
Is a laundry service available?▾
Laundry service is available at the property. Please ask at reception or contact us via WhatsApp to arrange collection. We use a local laundry service and can typically return items within 24 to 48 hours depending on demand. Given that Praslin's climate means lightweight clothes dry quickly, many guests also find that a small portable washing option in the kitchenette sink works perfectly well for quick turnaround items. We are happy to advise on the best approach for your length of stay.
